Future Men in Missouri is an evangelical non-denominational Christian boarding school and leadership academy. It is an early intervention school whose calling is to lead wayward teens to realize their individual purpose, or destiny, in Christ. Teens attend Future Men from around the country, including from Little Rock, Arkansas, and often find it beneficial to spend time in a new environment away from local peer groups.
Spiritual life is the cornerstone aspect of Future Men. We are devoted to introducing every teen to Jesus Christ to lead them toward their gifting and destiny in Christ. Many teens who come have moved away from their spiritual heritage or have never professed faith in Christ, and FM offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time. Bible study, worship, and prayer permeate everything we do at Future Men.
Future Men exclusively serves troubled or troubled boys. In addition to helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we provide specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each child. We teach teens to serve and love others. Mission trips and community service events offer real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at FM.
Future Men is a fully accredited high school that employs a model of independent study with personalized instruction. Students complete courses at their own speed, with weekly goals established by tutors based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are available for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. FM also supports students to work toward post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.
FM knows that teenagers and their families today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are surrounded by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The FM model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that young people can develop self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they become committed to the positive values of serving and caring for others.
Outdoor activities at FM are designed to play a role in leadership development and character growth as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every teen is asked to play adventure activities because of the valuable life skills that can be learned.
