Spiritual life is the foundational characteristic of Future Men. We are dedicated to introducing every student to Jesus Christ to help them find their gifting and purpose in Christ. Many teenagers who come have rebelled against their spiritual heritage or have never professed faith in Christ, and FM offers an open environment for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time. Bible study, worship, and prayer permeate every aspect of life at Future Men.
Future Men exclusively serves troubled or troubled boys. In addition to helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we present specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each teenager. We teach teens to serve and love others. Mission trips and community service events offer real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at FM.
Future Men is a fully accredited high school that operates under a program of independent study with personalized instruction. Students work through courses at their own pace, with weekly objectives established by instructors based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are available for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. FM also supports students to prepare for post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and college applications.
FM recognizes that adolescents and their families today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are surrounded by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The FM model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that teens can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they embrace the positive values of serving and caring for others.
Outdoor activities at FM are designed to play a role in leadership development and character growth as part of a holistic approach to development. Every student is asked to participate in adventure activities because of the important values that can be gained.
