What is Future Men?

Future Men is a Christian boarding school where struggling boys and young men ages 14 to 20 learn to take ownership and become men. It is located near Branson, Missouri. Every week is built on three pillars: Christian men who live on campus and walk through each day with your son, accredited academics with an individual plan built for him, and two full days a week learning a trade at a local business. Founder Aaron Boldman has led the school since 2002.

What ages does Future Men serve?

Future Men serves boys and young men ages 14 to 20.

Is Future Men a boot camp or military school?

No. There are no drill instructors and no military model. Future Men is a Christian school and discipleship home with clear structure and clear consequences. Change comes through Christian men walking alongside your son, Bible teaching, school and hard work. Compare the options.

Is Future Men a therapeutic boarding school?

No. Future Men is Christian mentoring and discipleship. We do not provide licensed therapy or psychiatric care, and not every mental-health need can be safely served here. Our admissions team reviews every situation individually. Learn more.

What kinds of struggles do the boys have?

Common struggles include defiance and disrespect, anger, lying, falling behind in school, substance use, pornography, screen addiction, a lack of motivation, and the absence of a strong male role model. Our admissions team reviews every situation individually before accepting a student.

How long do students stay?

Most students stay 9 to 18 months. Length of stay is shaped by the academic and personal goals set at enrollment. Admission is year-round, and emergency placements are available upon request.

How many students are enrolled?

Future Men is intentionally small, with 18 to 20 students at any given time, so your son is known by name by the men who mentor him.

Is Future Men religious?

Yes. Future Men is unapologetically Christian. Faith is part of every day, and students go to church together every Sunday. We never force belief. We live out the gospel and invite each student to discover the truth for himself.

Academics

4 questions
Is Future Men accredited?

Yes. Future Men is accredited by Cognia, the global accrediting organization formerly known as AdvancED.

Can my son earn his high school diploma?

Yes. Students earn high school credits, make up what they may have missed at home and work toward graduating with a diploma in hand.

My son is far behind in school. Can he catch up?

Usually, yes. His coursework is prescribed for him and paced by where he needs to be when he leaves, with staff alongside him every day, so a student who has fallen behind can catch up faster than he ever could in a crowded classroom. We find out where he is at enrollment and build his plan from there.

What are the apprenticeships?

Every Tuesday and Thursday, every student works at a local business learning a trade, such as electrical, plumbing, welding, auto mechanics, construction, landscaping, firefighting and more. Apprenticeship hours earn elective credit. See the program.

Tuition

2 questions
How much does Future Men cost?

Tuition at Future Men is $6,300 per month. There is a one-time $2,000 nonrefundable admission charge that is not credited toward tuition. Emergency placement is an option when placement within 24 to 48 hours is a requirement, for an additional $1,500. Acceptance is still determined by our admissions team and bed availability. Families may withdraw at any time without notice. Tuition and fees are not refunded. Tuition details.

How do we pay tuition?

Families

7 questions
Can we talk to and visit our son?

You can reach out whenever you need to, and you are encouraged to visit. How families stay connected.

What happens if my son does not want to come?

Most boys do not want to come at first. That is normal. Talk with us before you tell him, and we will share what has helped other families plan the conversation and the trip.

What happens if he refuses to stay or turns 18 while enrolled?

Every situation is different, so talk with us. Young men 18 to 20 are welcome at Future Men, and our goal is always to help your son choose to stay, own his choices and do the work.

Is Future Men safe?
